Production Engineering focuses on how production is organised and executed.

While Manufacturing Engineering develops how a product can be manufactured, Production Engineering ensures that manufacturing activities are planned, coordinated, controlled and improved to achieve production objectives.

Its scope includes production flow, scheduling, resource allocation, operational efficiency and production performance.

Why it Matters

Even capable manufacturing processes cannot reach their potential without effective production planning, coordination and execution.
